Pool Hours

Opening and Closing Procedures
Lifeguard Opening Procedures:
1. Vacuum the Pool
2. Clean skimmer baskets
3. Skim surface of the pool
4. Scrub scum line from Pool tiles
5. Spray off pool deck/pool furniture
6. Move backboard, AED and other necessary equipment out
7. Pick up trash from pool deck and grass
8. Open umbrellas
9. Check rescue bag and personal equipment, replace anything missing
Lifeguard Manager Opening Procedures:
1. Unlock Facility
2. Take first chemical test for Pool
3. Inspect grounds for safety hazards, check railings and check bathrooms
4. Turn on computer/ Setup front desk
5. Check AED battery and pads
6. Verify all lifeguard duties are complete, help when available
Closing Procedures:
1. Empty trash bins and take trash to bins in the pump room
2. Clean skimmer baskets
3. Organize Pool Furniture
4. Clean trash off pool deck
5. Clean outside bathroom
6. Clean women’s bathroom
7. Clean men’s bathroom
8. Clean family bathroom
9. Clean lifeguard office
10. Close umbrellas
11. Move back board and other equipment to pump room
12. Put AED away
13. Clean up front desk}
14. Final chemical checks (LM)
15. Lock up facility (LM)
